More than 1,000 students register at Open Days

Well over 1,000 prospective students have visited the College Open Days to find out about courses and opportunities available after leaving school.

At the latest Open Day held on Saturday 18th January, students and their families were able to talk to teachers, look around our classrooms and facilities, attend the Principal’s Welcome and other presentations on Aiming High and Becoming a Medic, have a guided tour from one of our Student Ambassadors and get careers information from our expert staff.

Visitors commented on the friendly and welcoming atmosphere and said the subject presentations and question and answer sessions were informative and interesting.

The Sixth Form’s most recent Ofsted inspection stated: “Students have a very positive attitude to learning, work well together and independently, and produce work of a high standard.”

A college spokesperson said: “This begins with individual support from the start. Every student meeting our entry criteria has an admissions interview with a tutor to ensure they are on the right course at the right level, giving them the best chance of success.

“There is a wide range of subject choice at A Level and BTEC – many of which cannot be found at other school sixth forms or colleges – and we welcome students of all abilities, yet our success rates remain high.”

The next Open Event is on Tuesday 3rd March from 4.30pm to 7.30pm.
