Thousands visit website for virtual Open Day
The New City College virtual Open Day held on Saturday 16th January attracted an astonishing 10,000 visits to the host website.
Although students and parents were not able to come onto the campus sites, including the Havering Colleges, because of the national lockdown, there were 1,400 attendees to the subject sessions which were held online.
Visitors signed in to watch and listen to presentations by teachers on Microsoft Teams and to ask questions about the college and the courses on a live Chatify platform.
There was also a chance to get advice on supported learning, careers, apprenticeships, university progression and financial support.
One of the most popular sessions was Ask Your Peers where current student ambassadors were online and answering questions from prospective students about college life.
Other sessions proving popular were Health & Social Care, Construction, Sport, Creative Arts and A Level Biology, Psychology and Law.
People who missed sessions or did not register on the day can still request to view subject presentations by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Group Marketing Manager Nell McCreadie said: “It was a highly successful event with a wide variety of interesting presentations for students who are considering coming to study at New City College. We have a huge range of subject choice and we welcome students of all abilities. There were some excellent questions during the sessions and some very positive comments from guests about the smooth running of the day.”
New City College has campuses in Hornchurch, Rainham, Epping Forest, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Redbridge.
The next Open Events will be held on 9th and 10th February and Saturday 20th March.
