Farewell concert showcases students’ musical talent

Music students performed a fantastic final concert of their course, playing and singing original songs and compositions to an appreciative audience.

The upper sixth students, many of whom are likely to achieve Distinction grades for their Music Performance BTEC Subsidiary Diploma qualification, organised and directed their own arrangements and compositions.

The College jazz band also performed and technical support was offered by the BTEC Music Technology upper sixth students..

Music tutor Chris Donnelly said: “The audience and students alike thoroughly enjoyed the evening and it went really smoothly, thanks to the hard work of the Music Technology students who did a great job with their technical support of the gig.”

He added: “The Music Performance students took responsibility for all elements of the concert, including front of house, publicity, ticketing, sound, staging and so on, and they put on a really great concert.”

The next music concert will be performed by the lower sixth Music Performance BTEC class. It will be held in the foyer of the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch, at 1pm on Friday 16th June.
