They met BBC Radio 1 and BBC Asian Network presenter Nihal who hosts a show where the big issues affecting British Asians are discussed and debated. The highlight of the visit was when the students were asked to take part in the show.

They went live on air for around 40 minutes, tackling questions regarding the world of politics, celebrity culture and sport.

Tutor Shahzad Akram said: “Overall the students did fantastically well. They debated the issues fully, giving their opinions and they came across really well. The visit opened their eyes to what it is like to work at a national radio station.”
