In Deepest Sympathy

Earlier today the funeral of Jodie Chesney took place. Staff and students close to Jodie – who was an A Level student at Havering Sixth Form College - attended at the invitation of her family, and were able to pay their last respects to her.

Jodie was tragically killed at a park in Harold Hill earlier this month.

Principal Paul Wakeling gave a short address at the request of Jodie’s family and paid tribute to a young lady whose shocking death is a great loss to her family and friends as it is to the College community.

Commenting on how the College community reacted to Jodie's death, Paul said: “I am proud of the way that students and staff responded to her death in working together to show their love for her and to support one another.”

Speaking about Jodie herself, he added: “Her friends said of her that Jodie's joy would never fail to spread to others. She was a much loved member of our College community who is, and will continue to be, truly missed.”
