Entertaining shows provide platform for students’ talents

Audiences were treated to two fantastic performances which showcased the talents of our Performing Arts and Acting students.

Eugene Ionesco’s Shorts was performed over two days with a matinee and evening show by the BTEC Performing Arts (Acting) Diploma students.

Ionesco was a Romanian-French playwright who was one of the foremost figures of the French Avant-garde theatre. His plays ridicule the most banal situations and he is often considered a writer of the ‘Theatre of the Absurd’. The students enjoyed bringing some of his works to life.

The second performance – The HSFC Variety Showcase – was produced by students on the BTEC Performing Arts Diploma and provided an evening of music, drama and comedy which highlighted some exceptional individual talents.

Deputy Principal Paul Nutter said: “The Variety performances showcased the amazing talents of our students. Their energy, enthusiasm and professionalism was on full display and was much appreciated by the packed audience.”
